Yes, we probably did. We are a nonprofit, volunteer organization, run by parents, professionals and community members with busy lives outside of RCT. If you have questions or concerns, your best bet is to send us an email. We will reply to emails asap but usually within 48 hours. Voicemail is checked less frequently. Email is your most efficient form of communication with us and will be checked more frequently as an activity approaches.
A 25% discount (EIG eligible) or 50% discount (free EIG eligible) on tuition for each student may be awarded in a production year (including productions, workshops and summer camps), up to a maximum of 6 opportunities per season and including ALL children in an immediate family. If an applicant is unable to contribute 50% tuition, the applicant will provide a letter explaining their situation and a basis for consideration of additional financial assistance. RCT will consider personal circumstances and hardships when awarding scholarships. Families requesting a scholarship award must submit a minimum payment of $30 per camp or workshop and $75 per musical production.
RCT will notify you of your scholarship award within two weeks of its receipt. Applications and awards are accepted per program and subject to available funding.
Payment Plans are available and may be arranged when registering. There is no application process to arrange a payment plan. If you would like more information or to arrange a payment plan, please email us at: bookkeeping@rosechildrenstheatre.org.
Tuition varies by show and camp, please email rct@rosechildrenstheatre.org with questions.
Tuition helps cover the cost of mounting a production such as royalties, venue fees, director, technical assistants, insurance, costumes, cast party, etc. Actors are responsible for purchasing their own shoes, tights and undergarments as needed.
Yes. If there are siblings participating in the same program or simultaneously in different programs, each sibling, beyond the first registration, will all receive a 10% tuition discount.
To secure registration for camps and workshops, please pay a non-refundable tuition deposit upon registration and the full tuition balance 30 days prior to the first day of the camp/workshop. Tuition is non-refundable 30 days prior to the first day of camp/workshop. For the fall productions, one half of the tuition is non-refundable. For all other productions, tuition is paid in full upon accepting casting and will be considered 100% non-refundable as rehearsals begin immediately.
If you are considered for a lead or major role you will be asked to come to CALLBACKS for another audition.
If you are not called back IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU DIDN’T GET A PART! Not everyone auditioning will get called back for a second audition.
The cast list will be emailed with registration information.
You will need to follow the directions on the website and either accept or decline your part. Here is some good advice from the director. Accept any part you are given and feel proud of yourself.
If you do not get cast, please don’t give up! Keep trying! Every show has a unique set of characters and ages to balance the cast. Consider enrolling in one of our many other opportunities: registration shows, workshops or summer camps. These will help build your skills! Then come back for another audition!
Performances are generally held at local theaters and area schools.
Definitely YES. There will be no absenteeism during performances.
Most cast members will rehearse 3-4 hours per week (the larger the part, the more rehearsal needed). The last 3 weeks of rehearsal are mandatory for everyone.
No, but everyone in the cast will rehearse at least 2 times per week for 1-2 hours each time. There may be some flexibility with schedule conflicts or prior commitments up until three weeks prior to opening. All schedule conflicts must be handed in at auditions and after that, NO new conflicts will be accepted.
We recognize that the talented young actors with RCT may have other activities such as choir rehearsal, ballet performances, etc. Therefore, we will be asking parents to indicate the actor’s level of commitment and availability before casting the specific roles. If a child regularly needs a lesser commitment the directors will take that into consideration when casting. The two weeks prior to opening night are mandatory for all actors. A weekend rehearsal may be called to kick off tech week, the week before opening night.
Yes, priority will be given to 5th and 8th graders because high schoolers have the availability of high school theater programs.
Yes! Volunteers are an essential part of any Rose Children’s Theatre production. One of our goals is to involve parents in their children’s theater experience. This also helps build community and provide services to our organization that would otherwise require payment. All of our needs cannot be met by tuition and ticket sales alone. To make this a truly outstanding experience for all involved, there will be specific volunteer requirements for parents of children cast in a production.
We require twenty hours including two shifts during performance weekends. All volunteers are required to have a current background check with RCT. Hours can be completed by a parent, sibling, grandparent, etc.
The hour requirement will be 30 hours combined.
In the delivery of its services to the public, Rose Children’s Theatre does not discriminate for or against any person on the basis of ethnicity, nationality, place of origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, familial status, economic status, age, or mental or physical disability.
