Welcome to the Renaissance!
Something Rotten Jr.

Shows during the weekends of April 24th-26th and May 1st-3rd!

Rose Children’s Theatre presents Something Rotten Jr., a hilarious musical comedy about two brothers determined to write the world’s very first musical. This fast-paced mash-up blends sixteenth-century Shakespeare with twenty-first-century Broadway flair.

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play—but they live in the shadow of the Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer predicts that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting all at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to create the world’s first musical. Amid the chaos and excitement of opening night, they discover that success comes from staying true to yourself… and all that jazz.

Something Rotten Jr. features big song-and-dance numbers and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each with their own moment to shine. The show was created by Grammy Award–winning songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick and writers Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.
