Pride On Stage

Entering 7th-12th grade
(open to LGBTQ+ and Allies)

Be bold. Be seen. Be celebrated.

A high-energy, affirming week for teens who want to express themselves through music, movement, and storytelling in a welcoming, judgment-free space. This collaborative experience centers creativity, connection, and joy, and offers teens the chance to be part of something meaningful.

Create performance pieces that celebrate individuality, ensemble, and self-expression. This is a space to show up as your full self, support your peers, and build confidence through theatre.

Teens of all identities are welcome: LGBTQIA+, questioning, and allies alike. The focus is on community, empowerment, and shared joy.

Participants will have the option to perform at the Eugene Pride Festival as part of a joyful, affirming community celebration.

Marooners Rock

A Neverland–Inspired Theatre Adventure

Set sail with us in this imaginative, play-acting adventure inspired by the magical world of Neverland! Campers will step into a story filled with brave young adventurers, pirates, and mermaids as we explore a mysterious island lagoon through creative drama, movement, music, and storytelling.
This is a make-believe, collaborative theatre camp where imagination leads the way. Together, we’ll:

  • Build the story details we care about
  • Pull together simple costumes and props
  • Create fun songs and movement
  • Play characters, explore emotions, and invent adventures

If your child loves pretending, storytelling, mermaids, pirates, and theatrical play, Marooner’s Rock is the perfect summer escape. ✨ Come ready to imagine, explore, and create together!

Stranger Sings

July 6 - July 10

A Singing & Acting Performance Camp

Stranger Sings is a performance-focused camp for students who want to explore dark, moody, and emotionally driven material through both singing and acting. Inspired by the 1980s aesthetic and the storytelling of shows like Stranger Things, Wednesday, and Beetlejuice, this camp lives in the space between pop music and musical theatre.

Students will work on character-rich songs where emotion, intention, and storytelling matter just as much as vocal technique. Through guided acting work and music-driven exploration, performers will focus on:

  • singing with purpose
  • emotional storytelling through music
  • making bold, specific choices
  • connecting lyrics to inner motivation

This is not a flashy, belt-heavy camp. This is about mood, character, and letting the story lead the sound.

Broadway Bound

A Broadway-Style Singing & Dance Performance Camp

Broadway Bound is an energetic, joy-filled performance camp for young performers who want to sing, dance, and bring musical theatre to life. Centered on Broadway-style choreography and ensemble singing, this experience helps students understand how movement and voice work together to tell a story onstage.

Students will learn dynamic dance combinations, build vocal confidence, and develop performance skills through collaborative rehearsal. The focus is on connection, creativity, and discovering the magic that happens when song and movement come together.

The week culminates in a mini performance for friends and family, giving students the chance to share what they’ve learned in a supportive, celebratory setting.

Harmony Project

A Vocal Performance Experience

Harmony Project is a summer singing experience focused on harmony, ensemble, and expressive performance. Through group singing and musical storytelling, participants explore how voices blend together while building confidence, connection, and musicality. This camp also emphasizes developing vocal presence and learning how harmony and blend bring music to life.

Led by Rose Children’s Theatre teaching artists Debi Noel and Vicki Brabham, singers develop healthy vocal technique, blend, and musical expression while exploring how intention, presence, and light movement can support storytelling through song. The focus is on listening, collaboration, and the shared energy that happens when voices come together. Optional solo or small-group features may emerge within the music.

Open to students entering grades 5–12, Harmony Project welcomes a wide range of experience levels, from newer singers to more seasoned performers.

The week concludes with a short informal performance for friends and family that reflects vocal growth, ensemble work, and collaboration.

One-Act Musical

Bring a one-act musical to life in just two weeks!

This fast-paced, collaborative experience invites students to dive into the full process of mounting a show—from first rehearsal to final performance.

Throughout the two weeks, students will rehearse scenes, learn songs and choreography, and develop the skills needed to perform a complete one-act musical.

The program culminates in a live performance onstage on the final Friday.

This production will be supported behind the scenes by RCT’s Stagecraft Studio and RCT’s production tech crew during the second week..

This one-act musical gives students the chance to build skills, tell a complete story, and experience the excitement of live performance.

Stagecraft Studio

A Live Production Tech Experience

Stagecraft Studio gives students a behind-the-scenes look at how a theatrical production comes together—from first cue to final curtain.

This one-week technical theatre camp takes place during the final rehearsal week of RCT’s One-Act Musical Camp. Throughout the week, students will learn directly from RCT’s professional technical team—the artists who support and run our year-round productions. Participants will explore lighting, sound, sets, props, and costumes, and discover how all of these elements work together to support storytelling onstage.
To ensure meaningful, hands-on learning, enrollment is intentionally limited, allowing for individualized guidance and one-on-one instruction from experienced theatre professionals.

At the end of the week, students will transition to the theatre to put their skills into action. On Friday, they will participate in a morning technical rehearsal and support the production elements of the afternoon performance, gaining real-world experience in a live performance environment.

Musical Makers

A Beginner-Friendly Musical Theatre Creation Camp

Musical Makers is a hands-on, collaborative theatre experience where students build a mini musical from the ground up. Campers will choose from a selection of fun, age-appropriate songs, create characters and story moments, explore simple staging and movement, and select costume pieces to bring their performance to life..

Designed especially for students who are new to theatre or musical theatre, this camp focuses on building confidence, encouraging creative choices, and helping students feel comfortable performing in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

Throughout the week, students will:

  • Learn songs from provided musical selections
  • Help create simple scenes and story connections between songs
  • Explore basic staging and performance skills
  • Help choose costume pieces to support character and storytelling
  • Work together as an ensemble to build a mini musical performance

The week will conclude with an informal sharing performance for families.

Pleasant Hill Musical

For Students entering 3rd – 6th grade in Fall 2025

Pleasant Hill music instructor Ryan Strong joins long-time RCT music director Wayne Strong for a lively week of musical theatre fun. Together they guide students through singing, acting, movement, and creative storytelling as the group works collaboratively to build a short mini-musical.

Throughout the week, imagination and teamwork take center stage as students bring the show to life. The camp concludes with a Friday performance for friends and family, where participants share the musical they’ve created together.

Emerald City Night

A Week-Long Youth Performance Experience

Emerald City Night is a special, week-long performance experience that takes young performers from rehearsal to a truly magical, real-world stage.

Throughout the week, participants will prepare vocal and performance pieces designed for a dynamic community setting. Performers will work collaboratively to build ensemble skills, confidence, and stage presence, culminating in a featured Rose Children’s Theatre on-field performance during the **Eugene Emeralds Wicked Theme Night at PK Park — prior to the stadium drone show.

This experience blends focused preparation with the excitement of performing in a high-energy, celebratory environment, offering students a unique opportunity to share their voices beyond the traditional theatre space and in front of a large, live audience.
